Adobe Labs has released the Camera Raw and DNG converter Release Candidate v.6.7, while Nikon in recent weeks has released updates for View NX2, Capture NX2 and Camera Control pro. All these new releases add support for the Nikon D4, D800 and D800E and now all run natively on 64-bit systems. Download here.

Nikon have published updated versions of the following programs, now compatible with Apple OS up to v.10.6.2 (Snow Leopard) and 32/64 bits Windows 7, Vista: Capture NX2, Camera Control Pro 2, Transfer, View NX, NIK Color Efex Pro.
There is a rising number of users who report that - at least - Nikon View NX does not work on Apple's latest OS, "Snow Leopard". Nikon are currently addressing this issue and testing the Mac versions of their software for release in the near future. More info here.
Nikon have just launched the long awaited D3S professional FX camera. As the D3, it is equipped with Nikon's 12.1 effective Mp. CMOS sensor, but with an extended standard ISO range of 12.800 and an ISO-max of 102.400.
Comparing all the mayor contenders in the RAW conversion field leaves us with only one conclusion: there is no real "champion". Some images are better off with program x, while others with program y. However, and in spite of its shortcomings and elevated price, the Bridge/Photoshop/ACR/DNG Converter combo is the more obvious choice for those who routinely convert large amounts of RAW images.
