Today (05-04-2011), Nikon launched the new D5100, which replaces the D5000.Among its most interesting specs are the "swing-out" 3 in. 921 K-dot monitor, 16,2 Mp. CMOS sensor, standard ISO from 100 - 6.400 (extendible to 25.600) and 1080p full-HD movie mode with continuous AF.

With 2010 recently started, and many of us awaiting at least one important Nikon launch this year, I’m looking back on a decade that has seen jaw-dropping advancements in photography hardware.
My Nikon wishlist: D700+MB-D10, AF-S 14-24 mm f/2.8G, AF-S 55-200 mm. f/4-5.6G and Sandisk Ducati 4 Gb. CF plus firewire card reader.
Nikon USA anounced an instant savings offer for a D5000 "Outfit", which includes the AF-S DX 18-55 f/3.5-5.6G VR and the AF-S DX 55-200 f/4-5.6G VR lenses, which can now be had just 5 cts. short of U$ 1.000.
Maybe the best Nikon ever built? Some will surely disagree, but with over 14.000 takes on it, and considering its price, I think yes! Updated: 29-04-09.
