In spite of the widespread clamor among wildlife photographers for semi professional long lenses in the 2.500 dollar price bracket, the mayor manufacturers are still unwilling to listen. Time to call upon Nikon to give us an affordable 500 mm.

Yup, I’ve been off of the radar for quite a while. We spent most of September in Amsterdam, to meet my first grandchild, hook up with the family and do tourist–stuff. I also went to the Photokina in Cologne, held both the new Nikon D7000 and Pentax 645D while I also bought some gear. So: I have a lot to talk about. more »
