hello, this occurs to me pretty often since i mounted a tamron 90mm f2.8 with motor since one month now.
shutting off and restarting camera with or without reinserting battery works around 25% of time.
removing lens and remounting worked right away..

It just happened to me with a Nikon D3, 70-200 2.8 VR and a EN-EL4a battery. The camera resets if I take the battery off, but it happened 4 times in a 2 hours interval. I had been shooting continuously for 6 hours when it happened (shooting a Fashion Show). I have this camera and lens since 2008 and it was the first time that it happened. All firmware is up to date. I will clean the contacts and I just hope it wil go away. I lost some important pictures with the camera freezing in the middle of the show. :(
